Welcome to Holly Springs Veterinary Hospital! We are a full service veterinary medical facility that provides comprehensive companion animal healthcare. We believe in a partnership between you, our veterinarians, and your pet – a partnership designed to promote optimal health, comfort and longevity.

Our doctors are highly trained medical professionals who practice the science and art of medicine with compassion and understanding for each individual pet. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and preventive companion animal healthcare. Whether your pet has an ear infection or a life-threatening illness, we are here to help.


Dr. Hans BernardHans Bernhard, DVM

Dr. Bernhard is a Raleigh native. He’s been a member of the Holly Springs Veterinary Hospital team since completing veterinary school at North Carolina State University in 2005. He has a deep passion for patient care and a particular professional interest in internal medicine, dermatology, and endocrinology. Away from the office, “Dr. B” loves spending time with his family – often taking trips to the beach or traveling to visit the nearest baseball park to watch a game. During the winter, you may find him out West skiing down a black diamond run. His children, Eva & Landon can occasionally be seen at the office helping him check in on patients. His personal pets include 2 dogs (Chipper & Zack) and cat, Myrtle.

Dr. Aaron TolhurstAaron Tolhurst, DVM

Dr. Tolhurst is a 2012 graduate of the North Carolina State University – College of Veterinary Medicine, where he focused his studies in small animal medicine. His particular interests include preventive medicine and surgery. Prior to attending veterinary school, he received a BS degree in Biology in 2003 from Penn State Erie – The Behrend College in Erie, Pennsylvania. He moved to North Carolina in 2008 and still misses the snowy Pennsylvania winters. When not at work, Dr. Tolhurst enjoys home improvement projects, relaxing outdoors, and spending time with his wife and their cat named Miles.

BeckyBecky, Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician

Becky was born and raised in Pompano Beach, Florida, and moved to Fuquay-Varina, NC in 1988 with her family.  She joined the HSVH family in 2013 as the Patient Care Coordinator and became the friendly voice and familiar face that you often heard or saw.  She was given the opportunity to move over as a Veterinary Technician and eventually added Practice Manager to her role.  She always has had a love for animals from the very first pet she could remember, Bennie, at the age of two. MANY pets later, she now shares her home with her loving husband, Colin, of almost 20 years. Three excitable dachshunds (Sunny, Suzie, and Pepper) and three playful cats (Georgia Honey, Parker, and Salem). In her private time, Becky enjoys traveling with her husband, relaxing with a good book or spending quality time hanging out with friends and family.

LexiLexi, Patient Care Coordinator

Lexi has always had a passion for animals growing up, and has dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since she was six years old. She is currently an Animal Science major at North Carolina State University with a concentration in Veterinary Bioscience. After graduating she hopes to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University as well. She joined our staff in October and is excited to gain more knowledge and experience about the career path she wishes to pursue.

LeahLeah, Kennel Staff

Leah hails from Bridgeport, CT and moved to Apex, NC in 2013. She started with HSVH in September as the full-time Kennel Manager. Leah has past experience working at Dogtopia in Cary, NC and comes with the knowledge and know how on what pets like while boarding. Leah has loved animals ever since she was little. She owns a Yorkie mix named Coco, who loves to visit the vet and get loved on by all of the staff. When Leah is not at work she enjoys being a full-time Mommy to her adorable son, Micah.

CandaceCandace, Kennel Staff

Candace B Convery has been working at Holly Springs Vet Hospital since late 2015. She is a student at SWA and studies hard to achieve her lifelong goal of becoming a veterinarian and running an animal rescue someday. Candace adores all animals and loves being able to care for all of our wonderful clients. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her golden lab Missy, reading, listening to music and watching House.
